When I make any changes to the options on the various tabs within Internet
Options the program will make the changes, but it will then freeze with the
error message (program not responding). It will not return me to IE... the
cursor changes to the hourglass, or the sliding progress meter just runs and
runs without completing the process. I have to use the Task Manager to exit
the running program and get out ot IE. When I go back into IE I find that
the changes have been made, but if I try to do any of a number of things the
program hangs up...
For example: selecting the home page, deleting history files (all of the
other deletions work fine), changing the security levels, or
checking/unchecking any boxes on the advanced tab.

Uninstalled IE7 and went back to IE6. Made no difference. Reinstalled IE7
from the Microsoft Download site. Still have problem. Everything else within
IE7 works fine.

Hope someone can help resolve this issue.

It's some registry error beyond IE. If no Restore point puts you back, I
would try a Repair setup of XP.

Restore points don't go back far enough... I've done both a repair Windows
and a reinstall of Windows. Didn't help with either option.

No retore point goes back far enough... And I've tried both the Windows
repair and reinstall.. Neither one worked.
