internet issues

okay so nothing is wrong with my actual internet, but i
can't access some web sites. mainly i think it's sites
where you need to download stuff or require a password.
for example, i can't sign in to messenger. it says that
it doesn't recognize my password, but i um...KNOW it's
the right one. hm...any suggestions. oh, and i'm not
behind a firewall.

Why not? You are laying yourself open to all sorts of messenger spam
and the Blaster Worm.

Not to mention all kinds of other malicious intrusions, including
some that haven't been developed yet.

In my view, everyone should use a firewall. They are available
for free, and the cost in performance is also close to nothing.
It's just foolhardy not to run one.
