Hi,

Whenever I try to browse the internet using Internet
Explorer I get the "Cannot find server or DNS error" even
though I am connected to the internet. As a result MSN
messenger is also unable to connect to the internet.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem.
I have Opera installed too which works fine and has no
problems connecting to the internet.

Anuj,
Some malware can cause this. Work through the solutions (CWShredder,
Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Additional information at:
The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm

Removing malware can cause the "cannot find server" problem. Depending on
your OS...
Try LSP Fix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm and/or one of the other
repair tools near the bottom of that page.

Hello,
I have had the same problem for several weeks now and just
installed Mozilla which works fine. Used it for this.
I have reinstalled I.E., searched for sassar worm.. and
still can't get I.E. to work. Of interest another machine
in the house allows I.E. to work if I hit refresh several
times and then works fine for the rest of that session. My
conection is via Adelphia cable. My firewall had been
open. Norton virus and tools unable to find the problem.
My TCP/IP connections are correct.
I need help.
