internet explorer with sp2

since installing sp2 on my machine, when trying to open
ie6 the screen opens but so does download accelerator
asking if i want to download iexplorer.exe. or
iexplorer.exe is shown in the address pane. i the have to
press home to get ie to load my correct page. is this a
known problem & is there a cure

Same combination here ( SP2 with DAP on a test installation) and no problems
seen. Perhaps, you can try uninstalling DAP and reinstalling it.
