Internet Explorer will not open and displays error message

Hi,
I'm not entirely sure of what version of Internet Explorer
I have. However, I am (since yesterday) unable to open
Internet Explorer or anything on my computer that has it as
a component. Everytime I try, it displays the error message:
Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience. If you
were in the middle of something, the information you were
working on might be lost. Then there is an option to send
an error report or not to send one. I am currently using
Mozilla so that I can use the internet, but would like to
have IE back as soon as possible. Any suggestions? Thanks!
 
Did you have a recent IE update. Uninstall it. The latest update has
caused some problems.
