Everytime I go onto a website that doesn't work, I don't get the traditional

"Page not found" screen. I am now sent to some ad/like website with a search
engine and it would say on the top my page was not found.

How can I get rid of this?!

It is more likely a redirection from the website host for
sites that have been moved or abandoned. The only way to
stop it is to only try to open valid webpages. The question
is how do you know.

| its porbably "adware"

| to find out more about it, and how to remove it, go here -

So there is no hope for my poor IE browser ? :(

Dude, try a search for the site using google. They may have cached pages
from that web site. But as Jim says below, it is likley that the site may no
longer be there and you are getting redirected - happens to me sometimes.
