internet explorer search window

I cannot get anywhere in my search window-it doesn't
matter what browser I use-or link I try to go to. I keep
getting an error message-Http 404. I have checked my
settings many times-I hav emptied my temporary internet
files, deleted cookies, you name it...any suggestions?
