I get the folling error when trying to print email from
either outlook2000 or AOL 9.0:

An error has occured in the script on this page
Line: 1344
Char: 1
Error: Unspecified error.
Code: 0
URL: res://C:\WINNT\system32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

I have IE 6.0 latest download and updated.

The OS is Windows 2000 with all of the updates.

The error doesn't immediately occur but eventually. I
haven't been able to identify if there is a trigger that
causes it to happen.

Thanks
Jon

From what I can find, it seems this can be caused by several things, most
commonly incorrect registry keys. Below are the keys as they usually should
be. If you are not 100% comfortable working inside the Windows registry, I
would recommend calling Microsoft and creating a support incident for
assistance. Here are the keys to check:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{0000000c-0000-0000-C000-0000
00000046}]

Default="IStream"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{0000000c-0000-0000-C000-0000
00000046}\NumMethods]

Default="14"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{0000000c-0000-0000-C000-0000
00000046}\ProxyStubClsid32]

Default="{00000320-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}"

Thanks, that seems to have fixed the problem. That whole
key was missing from the registry.

Tim:

I just wanted to thank you for this information. I had two Windows NT
4.0 workstations that have had the Outlook printing script error for
several months. I have tried EVERYTHING - and nothing has worked -
until now. I checked and the registry keys you posted here were
missing. I re-entered them as you stated and like magic - I could
print in Outlook again with no script error. The print error only
happened in HTML messages. Now, HTML messages print as they should.

Thank you again for this very elusive answer. I just wish I understood
how those keys were deleted in the first place !!!

Regards,
Pash
