internet explorer pauses

While browsing the internet, after every five-ten mins or
so my internet explorer seems to pause for a minute while
loading up the next page. It seems to occur at regular
intervals. The problem has occured for a while, and it is
only the internet explorer that has this pause, not the
computer itself. Perhaps a delay would be a better word
for it. In any case, any help or insight would be
appreciated.

If you have any unused network cards disable them in Device Manager.
