Internet Explorer opens in small window (ie not maximized)

I'm using Internet Explorer 6 with SP2. I recently visited a web site which
tried to dowwnload something to my PC (spyware?). I blocked it but since then
whenever and, whenever I open an Explorer Window it opens as a small window
and I have to hit the MAXIMIZE button. I looked in TOOLS | INTERNET OPTIONS
|ADVANCED to see if there was an switch to force it to open full screen, but
could not find anything.

Any way I can do this somewhere else (in the registry?)

Regards

Terry,

In most cases, you can reset it by opening it, maximising the window, holding
down the Ctrl key, and hitting the X.

I personally start everything from shortcuts, and explicitly set the shortcuts
to maximise when opening. I avoid the IE non-shortcut on the desktop (actually
I use Firefox when possible).

Terry,

it is possible that you did catch some adware that alters your
window sizes. In that case you should fill in the form at
www.michna.com/kb/wxnet.htm and follow the resulting advice.

Usually just manually resizing the window by dragging the corners, then
closing will save the new size for next time (the maximise button doesnt save
the setting)
