Hi,
The other posts about this do not seem to offer a solution. Is there one?
This doesn't tell us what you've tried.

Try the Reset button in Internet Options> Advanced. Note that this will
delete stored (autocomplete) passwords. Do you have those recorded
elsewhere?
If resetting IE settings helps, you may still have to re-enable browser
add-ons individually to see if the troublesome one can be found.
See:

The troublesome program may not show up as an add-on. Disable other
security, privacy, ad-blocking, appearance tweaking programs to see if one
of them is causing the problem. Any program that interacts with Internet
Explorer could be causing this. The connection with IE may not be obvious,
such as Google Desktop.
A firewall or security site might be causing this problem. Be sure to turn
on
the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall before disabling a
third-party firewall or security suite during testing.

Is IE the default browser in Control Panel> Default programs> Set your

Look for an "Important- Read this first" type message so that protocol is
followed and the process of analyzing the log works as designed.
Hope this helps,

Lately I have been getting the above message, mainly when I click on my
desktop icons.
It happens frequently and usually clears up on a second try, but not always.
The other posts about this do not seem to offer a solution. Is there one?
Thanks, Wayne
