Method 1:
=========
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. or
Click Start, and then click Control Panel
2. Double-click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Browsing, clear the Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart) check box.
5. Restart Internet Explorer.
Method 2: (for Repairing damaged files)
=========
1. Click Start ->Run.
2. Type sfc /scannow (Note: There is a space between sfc and /scannow)
3. Select the OK button.
4. Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process.
5. Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes.
Method 3

for Repairing IE)
=========
If the Internet Explorer Repair Tool Verification does not work, or if
Internet Explorer 5 is not listed in the Add/Remove Programs tool in
Control Panel, you can start the Internet Explorer Repair tool from a
command prompt:
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. For Internet Explorer 6, please use the following command:
rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt"
3. When prompted for the CD, Insert the windows XP cd
Method 4

for Repairing IE)
=========
1. Click Start -> Run
2. Type the following command
3. "rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\inf\ie.inf"
4. When prompted for the CD, Insert the windows XP cd
