internet explorer disappears without any error message

I can run the internet explorer browser from start up, but
if I try to open a second IE browser it starts and then
disappears without warning. The same happens if I already
have outlook express running then I cannot even open the
first IE browser, this disappears also. Help please!

Some backdoor programs manage to move the browser out of
your view to be able to keep it running their popup, see
if is not moved to an area of the desktop where you can
barely see it, then drag it back or resize it.
