Internet explorer connection problems

I have been tryng to get ie to connect to http sites (to no avail).
However, https sites and ftp both work in ie.
I have tried out firefox and it works ok.
Must be summut blocking http port.

I have avg free edition
ms defender
and windows firewall turned on
I connect through a wireless card to my netgear router.

Everything else is ok except for the http problem

Sounds like you've got Port 80 blocked on you firewall somewhere. Or possibly
on your NIC. Hope this helps! Even within your router config, you just have
to look at all the possibilities!
