Hi.

Today, I just noticed that on Microsoft's website internet explorer 7.x has
been offered as a download. Interestingly, they call it Release Candidate 1.

Is this a beta version ? Does security software, such as commercial anti
spyware, support it ?

I just don't know if it's a beta version, and what to expect.

Any insigh would be appreciated.

Alpha, Beta (1, 2, 3), Release Candidate (RC1, RC2) Release to
Manufacturing (RTM)

Its the beta and with a beta you never know what your going to get or what
will work with it....

IE 7 is currently still BETA sofware, and is in public beta version 3.

I'm using it and LOVE it.

I abandoned Firefox when I installed Beta 2.

It's technically not a beta, but the next step past it.

But it doesn't matter what it's called. It's still not completely tested
software and not deemed by Microsoft to be ready for release.Unless you have
an extra test system to run it on, it would be foolish to run it.
