For several weeks I've been experience a shutdown when
searching using internet explorer 6. The error message
reads:"intrnet explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close."

How do I correct this problem?

Well that seems to be the question of the week and
apparently no one at microsoft knows or cares because I
and many others have asked that same question many times
to no avail. Sorry to disappoint you. Try Mozilla.
They say it's much better than IE.

Connie,

I believe you are referring to the error-reporting dialog in IE. When IE
crashes, you will be presented with the dialog which says "send the error
report to microsoft". In that Window, click "to see what data this report
contains" and note down the MODNAME & APPNAME.

Post back with the above information.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
