Internet Explorer 6 does not save passwords

I have IE 6 Loaded on Windows XP Home Edition and the
Pasword Save , Auto Complete and Save Form features do
not function...
I have tried enabling and disabling them several times
and tried all the default settings but the features still
do not function...
Every time I go to a web page I have been on it still
asks me to save pasword and the nextime I go there it is
not remembered and it asks me again..
I tried using system restore and I repaired the
operating system from the windows CD but still I can not
get it to work... Any help would be greatly appriciated..
