Internet Explorer 6.0

Internet explorer 6.0 isn't working like it should, my
default page is Yahoo.com and since Tuesday whenever I
type in any words such as cnn, msnbc or bank of new york,
etc I get sent to a particular search engine. Before it
sends me there, it flashes "this page can't be displayed
correctly. I even tried going to www.ask.com at the
address field and it sent me to that same search engine.
Does anybody have a solution or recommendation.
