internet explore error

I'm receiving this error that tells me the internet has
expericened an error and will need to shut down sorry for
the inconvenience. Under the Technical stuff which I
don't claim to understand it list the following:
iexplore.exe
ModVer. 6.0.2800.1400
AppVer. 6.0.2800.1106
Offset 000aa8a4
mshtml.dll

What does this mean and what can I do to get rid of it so
that I may surf the web and check email without losing
everything including my sanity?
