Sometimes I wonder about myself! Went to Microsoft and tried the
Internet Explorer 7 beta and of course it didn't like my computer, so
out it came. Not! System restore? Not! Uninstall? Not! Tried to
install IE6, Not! Setup says there is a newer version and it cannot
continue.

Help!

Uninstalling IE7 beta will automatically return your system to IE6.

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 Beta and return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP:

1. Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."
2. Click "Add or Remove Programs."
3. Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.
4. Scroll down the list to "Windows XP - Software Updates," select "Internet Explorer 7 Beta Preview," and then click
"Change/Remove."
5. If "Internet Explorer 7 Beta " does not exist, go to Start > Run and type:

%windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.exe

(To do this, you need to have "view hidden folders" enabled.)

Never install Beta software on other than a test machine. IE7 beta
questions should be directed to the internet explorer newsgroup.

IE7 (xxxx) is the default home page for windows/ie, or just /ie. I had
a hard time trying to find ie6 for an upgrade to a W2K box.

Why are you replying to me? I didn't post the question.

Because you made the statement about beta software. When
hunting for IE from Microsoft it defaults to the IE7 page. This
actually appears as the only IE update available. Just a comment.
