Internet does not disconnect

I have my PC at home which runs on Win 2000 Pro. Using a
Dial up connection, I get connected to Internet normally
and when I need to disconnect from the internet, it
doesn't disconnect. I have to disconnect manually by
turning of my external modem. Why this happens? Is there
any solutiion for this. Please advice.
 
Is the "RPC Service" terminating abnormally while you are online
Check the "Event Log
