Recently I have had trouble for 6 months signing in sites
that need name and password to log in my privacy says set
to medium everything is set to medium. I have three
computers one of them is brand new and still says set to
medium. I brought the computer to a friends house worked
fine he has comcast cable for internet service I have sbc
dsl and a 4 port d-link router could my router be the
problem sbc says its not theres. or what else could it be

It could be your router. A router comes with a hardware firewall. You need
to set it correctly to access the Internet.
