After installing SP2 i have been unable to delete my old
internet connections nor can i create a new dialup
internet connection...i get the message unable to create
connection probable cause shortage of disk space or
memory...apart from which i get the message that
phonebook could not be updated every time i click a
dialup connection...

Is your firewall on?

Run error checking [ chkdsk ] to verify the amount of
free disk space. [ my computer > right click on your hard
drive, probably C: > left click "tools" tab > error
checking area, left click "click " now. Place a check
mark in each of the options. Left click "start". Accept
notice that the utility can't run now, but will occur when
the PC is re-booted. ]

Save all of your work. Backup all of your important data.

Reboot your PC.

Re-try to connect to your ISP.

Have you contacted your ISP? Their software [ if any has
been installed on your PC ] may be incompatible with SP2.

1..Turning the firewall on and off does not solve the problem
2..There is enough disk space
3..i think memory is generally supposed tobe overwritten
4.No ISP software involved...
5.It is the computers OS that refuses to create a new connection or delete
the old ones..It used to work fine before SP2..I cannot uninstall SP2 as here
it takes days to download it again
