How do I stop my PC from connecting automatically to
internet? I have uncheck the "connect automatically" box
on the dial up box, I have unchecked "redial line if
dropped from the properties box", and on the Internet
Options under connection I have "always dial my default
connection." When I disconnect from the internet and let
the pc go into standby mode the next time I go to use the
pc it is already connected to the internet. This is tying
up my phone line. I don't want to have to shut the
computer down after each use.
Anyone have a solution? Thanks

Have you trying running a program for spyware? Ad-Aware is one good program
and it's free.

If you have Yahoo Messenger, MSN or Windows Messenger, ICQ or any instant
messaging system installed, check that none of these are set to open and
connect at startup..
