Internet Connection

Just recently purchased a HP Pavilion ze5620us. It came
with both wireless & LAN. It sees how fast the cable modem
is working, but yet i cannot connect to the internet. If I
use the 56k modem, it works fine on the dial-up for sprint
that i have. I have run the network configurators with
different variables and still nothing. I thought that it
would be like my Dell I had, just plug the cable in and
go. But no dice. Any Advise?

Are you using a DSL modem ?
If so, you need to check with your ISP if they are using
MAC address filtering in the modem. You can get around
this by switching off the modem and waiting at least one
minute then reboot the modem, then start the PC. That
should clear the modem memory....
