Internet Connection Sharing not showing

Kemal

Hi,

I have Windows XP Pro SP2 installed on my Toshiba
notebook. I am connecting to Internet through cable modem
and the connection is visible in Network Connections
window. However I am not able to see "Internet Connection
Sharing" option for the main connection I have (under
Advanced tab of Properties, I only have Windows Firewall
option). I know there should be two connections (one that
connects the gateway -this- PC to Internet and another
that connects the other client machines on private LAN)
and I have "Bluetooth Network Connection" and "1394
Connection" alterantives present. I would be grateful if
someone could help me out. I can provide further
information upon request.

Thank you in advance,

Kemal.

Hi,
I have solved my problem. I was trying to build a Bluetooth PAN, once I
succeeded a second Local Area Connection is automatically introduced
enabling the Internet Connection Sharing option on the main connection to
the Internet.

The ICS option only appears when there are one or more enabled,
connections for the home network (LAN) and the Internet connection
isn't part of a network bridge.

Do you intend to connect to the other computer using Bluetooth or
1394? Both are unusual types of networks. If so, the connection must
be enabled and connected to another computer.

Do you intend to connect to the other computer using Ethernet? If so,
your computer needs an available Ethernet connection not used by the
cable modem.

Hi,
I'm not sure if we're talking about the samme issue. In any case,
since I removed bluetooth Widcomm drivers by installing Service Pack 2
for XP, I cannot share anymore my ADSL internet connection from my PC
(XP Pro) with the laptop (XP Home Edition)through bluetooth dongles.
It seems that Microsoft Bluetooth drivers doesn't have internet
connection sharing as option while I can still send files wireless
between computers without any problem and i can connect successfully
the two's in a wireles PAN.
Do you maybe know if there is another way to give Internet access to
my laptop through BT?
Regards,
Donato
