hello,

1. last week I lost my connection at my home computer, can't use i-explorer,
outlook express and my av program won't update (trend micro) yet an old
file-sharing program is working.

2. yesterday same thing happened at work on a different computer. No
i-expl., outlook or trend updates. So I downloaded on a third computer the
new i-expl-7 and opened the install file on the computer with "no connection"
and tried to install it. During the installation it downloaded all the rest
of the files and it updated it to the new i-expl-7 version.

How could this happen and what should I do?

no I can't ping yahoo.com. My av program should check for spyware, so it
should be ok, only problem is that I can't get updates now.

assuming you can ping a public IP but yahoo.com, I would check the DNS settings first.
