Internet Connection Problem

I just bought a new desktop and i bought a D-Link wireless 108g usb adapter to connect to the internet.
As i keep trying, it only says requiring IP address and still it won't connect. I also have put the pc's IP address into the interface but still not working. So I am looking for solutions since it has been weeks and its been hard for me to do my assignments. Thanks.
