Internet Connection Made - Web Pages Missing

We have a new computer with Windows XP Home edition. We have loaded AOL and
can login and reach the AOL Home page but am unable to go to any other web
pages. It states that Web page can not be found. I called AOL and they
said we have a Win.File failure. I contacted Microsoft support and they
said the answer could be found on this site. If anyone can direct us to the
right section to find this information or give us the correct steps to fix
this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Click start/run, type iexplore and click ok - can you reach pages using
Internet Explorer instead of AOL? If you can, the problem is with the AOL
software. If not, then the problem may be within Windows, but not
necessarily so.
