Internet Connection Drops after 5 Minutes - Always

Running the latest W2KServer version: We have a DSL cx to
the internet using a static IP on the NIC, with a
DSL "modem" in bridge mode. We are able to cx to the
internet upon boot-up, but after five minutes the cx
always drops and we cannot ping out. (The KB suggestion
re not using IPSec already applies here and we've tried
swapping NICS.)

Are you sure that your DSL "modem" access point is not
doing "demand dial" connection. Do Win98se computers
perform the same way? Can your ISP view your activity
and give you more information on your connection
performance?
