I have an ex office formally networked computer. For the last 2 years it has
been working great on the internet using a BT voyager 205 router.
Just recently, I have lost my internt connect. I took it to a friend's
house and pluggied into their internet connect - which just happens to be
the same router as mine and it worked find. I did find a lot of spyware on
this machine so downloaded Spybot sd and zapped it all. I have not taken it
back home yet to test it back on my router (in case I need some more security
software installed). Could the spyware have caused the problem? Also could
I delete the network drive that shows on the my computer section as whenever
I start up the system, I get the message "could not find the network drice -

Grateful for any help please. S

Hi,

Presuming it was your computer you took to your friend's house, and
not the router:

Have you checked to see if the router has a factory reset - usually a
small hole that you can insert an opened paper clip to reset the
router to factory default settings.

You would then have to manually set up the router again. You could
take note of your friend's settings.

Thank you for getting back Claymore
Yes before the machine was bought here we reset it.

Regards.
