Trying to finish up my FX-55 box, but continually running into size issues
with this blasted Lian-Li server chassis it's going in. I've got a Gigabyte
NF3-based socket 939 mobo going into a PC-V2100 Plus box. This box is
massively HUGE, and that's become a problem in terms of cable lengths,
particularly with those HARDWIRED by Lian-Li at the factory. I want to hook
up the front panel IEEE1394b port, but the cable soldered to the port is
about 6" too short to reach the corresponding connection point on the mobo.
This cable has a small female 9-pin rectangular-shaped connector (two rows
of 5 with one pin at a corner missing), with about a 1 1/2" to 2" bundle of
nine separate lead connectors for connecting to a mobo pin configuration
different than the Lian-Li's cable (which as my luck would have it the
Gigabyte mobo is). After I cut the binding that held the indie leads to the
main cable, the entire length of the hardwire run is about 4" short of
reaching the mobo pins (toss in 2" for play...hence cable is about 6"
short).
What I need is an extender cable with a male 9-pin (that matches to the
rectangular female 9-pin connector on the Lian-Li cable) that has 9
individual female pin connectors at the other end. Having one match the
Gigabyte connector point perfectly is too much to ask, but if anyone knows
who I should contact to find a wire with the indie female connectors I've
just described--assuming one exists--I would be incredibly grateful.
