Internal error 2349

I see I'm not the only one getting this error in identical circumstances. I uninstalled Office 2000 Small Business because it was chronically displaying an error message that I could "x" closed and continue working through. I first tried to use the "repair" feature in the add/remove software panel, but that did nothing. When I tried to reinstall it, I received "Internal error 2349. Contact product support". I'm running on a HP Pavillion 522n pc. Anyone know how to fix this? HP's website didn't have any matches for that error, but an old FAQ mentioned some sort of ODBC conflict with Office 2000 and XP that involved different errors.
