interchanging rows and columns

How can I transform a whole worksheet so that the contents of the columns
and rows are interchanged? ie the contents of, say, column 1 become the
contents of row 1 etc.

Copy the entire working range. The in the desired area click on EDIT .. PASTE SPECIAL .. and choose transpose.

Good suggestion, but for OP.............a reminder.

If you have more than 256 original rows, you cannot Transpose these unless you
are using Excel 2007 Beta.

i.e. you cannot tramspose a matrix greater than 256 columns x 256 rows
