Interactive Buttons

When I use the interactive buttons by creating at least ten links
frontpage shows that the links at a 56K connection will take 15 seconds to
load. Is this correct? does that mean every page will take that long that
uses the links or do they cache? If interactive buttons increase load time
then why should they be used or is there a correct way to use them?

An IB includes at least 1 image (and can have up to 3 images depending on the states you select), plus some lines of JavaScript
- depending on the button image you select or make the file size will vary and download times will vary
