interaction of email rules

I am having a problem making certain email rules interact
with one another. here is the scenario:

i have my inbox separated into three subfolders
identified by the name of three different email accounts
i am using in outlook. i have three rules which state
that when mail comes into one of the three, it be moved
into the appropriate subfolder of INBOX. this works great.

Now, just recently, i installed spamassassin. it insers
the word SPAM in the header and the subject line of spam
emails. i then created another rule which said if the
word SPAM was found in the header or subject, the message
should be moved into the deleted items folder.

I had the SPAM rule apply first before the incoming mail
direction rules.

The problem is that outlook is sending a copy of the spam
emails to the delted items folders and another copy to
each email account subfolder to which it might have been
sent.

What I want it to do is send the spam emails to the
deleted items folder without also sending a copy to the
subfolder in INBOX to which it would otherwise go were it
not spam...

Please, if there is anyone out there who can assist me
with this, I would be very grateful.

THANK YOU.

Placing the rule to he top is indeed a good thing but in your SPAM rule you
must also add the action "stop processing more rules". You should be fine
now.

Add ANOTHER line to your Spam Rule:
