INTELLIPOINT RE-INSTALLATION

I have Windows XP use MS Tracerball Explorer.

Intellipoint 4.1 was originally installed and then
superceeded by 4.12.

I have tried to uninstall 4.1 but meet with the following
error message/s:

Win2k INF Uninstall error
GetPrivateProfileString()failed. MSMFG_SECTION.
OK was then clicked. This was followed by the messge:

Win2k INF Uninstall error
c:\\program files\\hardware\\mouse\\pfilter.inf

and then the uninstall ceases.

I then found that only normal mouse features were
possible with the trackerball. Trying to re-install 4.12
ended with the above error 4.1 uninstall error messages.
So at the moment the situation is in a loop.

Any advice to remove the glitch and fully re-install 4.12
will be gratelfully appreciated.

regedit/hkey_current_user/microsoft/intellipoint
