Intellimouse Optical & KVM switch

I have an Intellimouse optical and have been running it through a KVM switch
(using the USB to PS/2 converter that came with it) for a year or so with no
problems.

I recently upgraded one of the PCs (to a Shuttle mainboard if it helps) and
now the PC does not see the mouse.

If I plug a different mouse (a standard MS mouse) into the KVM switch, all
is well.

If I use the optical mouse plugged into the KVM switch, all the other PCs
see it fine. Just not the new one.

Has anybody got any clues here (and yes the optical mouse worked fine
plugged directly into the new PC) as I have run out of ideas?

Thanks

I think I've seen this happen before. Have you totally recycled the KVM
switch? Shut down all your computers, wait a minute or two and re-start
each machine. It forces it to re-recognize everything that it's connected
to. No guarantees, but I've had this work for me.
