Laptop with touch pad (ALPS) and IntellimouseExplorer worked fine
until I did a'restore' - unrestore has not changed the problem.

The problem is that the mouse clicks are sometimes missed and
sometimes doubled. It seems to be random. Example, click "delete"
and sometimes two emails are deleted. Click on a launch icon, and
nothing happens until one clicks again.

Windows XP Pro (reinstalled last week) and was working perfectly
until i did a restore. Toshiba Satellite 256MB & brand new disk.

If I "install" intellimouse drivers, the touch pad won't work.
Naturally I want both at all times ;-) RM

Intellimouse is at 5.5 version at the present time.

Where can I find 5.5 of mouclass.sys and mouhid.sys ?
(I have 5.1.2600... of these drivers) - RM

Turns out it was not the intellimouse drivers, it was the ALPS drivers
that needed to be updated. The program testpad.com showed that
clicking the external mouse showed a button DOWN, but sometimes the
pad drivers changed it to UP then mouse driver back to DOWN in a flash!
