Intellimouse and point32.exe problem

Im having a strange problem with my computer, specifically my mouse.
I play battlefield 1942 online and i use ventrilo to talk to my friends
with. In order to make communication easy with my friends, i assign one of
the extra buttons on the side of my intellimouse optical (offwhite model
with grey or silver side buttons) to CTRL using the assign keystroke
feature in intellipoint 4.12. This works for anywhere from 10-15 mins then
for some reason ventrilo goes into a constant state of transmission. When i
look at ventrilo the speaker icon is green meaning im sending. To fix this
problem i tried uninstalling the software the first time........... only to
find out the program just HUNG there... so i went into task manager and i
used end task process to end POINT32.EXE. as soon as i did this the
original mouse control panel popped up as well as the intellipoint
interface, after closing them down again ventrilo started working again.

so im not sure if its point32.exe thats binding up or if its intellipoint.
this used to work just fine, but i recently formated c:, i installed the
same versions of all the software but all the sudden i get this problem
recurring.

Anyone have any ideas? ive searched the boards and the only thing i have
found is someone said to try moving the process to realtime... didnt work.

Anyways TIA for your help.

Why don't you post this in microsoft.public.windows.games

You will likely get better response from there.

Did you disable the Terminal Services service?
If so, you should re-enable it, as point32.exe does what you describe when
the Terminal Services service is disabled.
