Hello,

I have a problem with an Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Adapter in my
Windows XP Embedded Machine. The Intel/Pro Wireless configuration utility
keeps displaying an error message when I try (as a normal user) to add
wireless profiles:
"Failed to update profile list. Profile database is in use"
This error is not displayed when performing the same action as an
Administrator.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem??

Thanks for any response,
R.Demandt

I have this same Intel ProSet wireless problem which just started on a brand
new Dell laptop. I bought it 6 weeks ago (end of June 2006) and the problem
just arose 2 days ago. Have you found a solution yet?

I found a solution, give a normal user full security acces rights on all:

-Intel registry keys
-Intel folders (The folder in Program Files and a hidden folder in Documents
and settings/user/application data - The map application data in the map of
EVERY user!)

This worked for me,
Let me know

I found myself in the same boat when I changed my login name. After
changing it back to what it was, all was well.

Thanks for the idea to look at user changes as the reason for the
lockout.
