Intel Storage Driver (IdeChnDr.sys)

hi

my problem is this: my computer freezes when it is in screensaver mode
(after several minutes) and I have to restart it.

also, when it does restart, I get an error message saying the Intel Storage
Driver (IdeChnDr.sys) is at fault. I have tried to uninstall it, with no
luck. when i go to system/hardware in the control panel window, the computer
shuts itself down.

any help would be appreciated- i am running Windows XP professional.
 
Try downloading the intel installation chipset utility from intel,depending
on
how old the board is,intels IDE drivers are from application accelerator
v2.3.
Both can be had from intel/downloads/chipset downloads.....
