Intel Quick Resume Technology

Hey anyone I was having an unknown device found in my Device manager and
could not find the answer to remove the device or install a new driver.
Through the help from this newsgroup I was directed to take a look at a few
links. I did........and found that by going into the BIOS and disabling
Intel Quick Resume Technology from the BIOS my unknow hardware issue was
gone. I had first tried to update the drivers and that did not work-system
did not match error.
Questions:
Do I really need the Intel Quick REsume Technology installed?

What is it really used for? It seems it is just another way to put the
comuter in another type of sleep mode. My computer works fine as far as I
can tell, without it.

Does it hinder any other part of the processor for example, I have a Intel
dual core 2 2.13 GHZ system. Does disabling Intel Quick resume affect the
processor and how it works?

If I enable it again the unknown device comes back and I can't install new
drivers becasue the say the system does not match. So i am leanly on just
leaving it disabled and using the Power mangement schemes that come with
Windows XP Pro.

Any advice,
Joe
