Intel getting ready to layoff 16,000 employees?

A lot of communications groups likely to go. Even talk of Viiv getting
canned. And of course they're not sure what to do with Itanium. If they
get rid of Itanium, they'll piss off HP, but I somehow think HP may not
mind too much, it is one of the biggest Opteron resellers.

AMD now has 20% of the server market and it is growing rapidly.
Two reasons, Intel's offerings are not nearly as good from a
performance standpoint, and they dissipate far more heat/wattage,
a critical concern with people who design server sites.

Can't help but use the notorious quote of even more notorious J.
Corse: Itanium is "dead, _dead_, DEAD".
Please correct me if I missed the exact punctuation and/or
capitalization ;-)
