Hi all

Even though Duel core cpu is set in my bios and is listed under device
manager within Vista.
Yet when I check the performance manager, only one cpu is bening used.
i.e the graph in performance manager, only one cpu is shown.

Is there anywhere else in Vista I can check or a setting to change it?

My System is a Dell Dimesnion 9150 / XPS440
Vista Ultimate 64 bit
Intel cuel core, 3.2ghz
4gb ddram

believe you have to enable the dual cpu display.
do not know how to do so.
might check the ms knowledge base to see if there is an answer there.
or maybe even search google.

Are you takling about Task Manager, if so;

Select Performance tab, select from menu View > CPU History > One Graph per
CPU

Hi and thanks for replies
yes I am and I tried that
Under view cpu history, that option is greyed out and says one graph
per cpu, it cannot be changed.
Now am I right to think as you suggested if Vista was using both cpu's
I should be able to change that?

Cheers

One quick way to verify that a Multiprocessor HAL ( Hardware
Abstraction Layer ) is being used is to check the Processor category
in Device Manager. You should see two/independent entries for a
Dual-Core CPU.

Yes I've checked that

Under device manager it has.

Two Intel Pentium (R) D CPU 3.2GHz This is correct
Yet
Under system ( where the Index Base score is shown) It says

Intel Pentium (R) D CPU 3.20GHz 3.19GHz
Is that correct?
