Intel 2200BG network card problems

I have Vista on a Dell Latitude D610 with an Intel 2200BG wireless card. The
card worked fine in XP, but in Vista (clean install) the entire computer
freezes as soon as the card is accessed. I have disabled the wireless card
and everything else works fine.
What I mean by freezes is no mouse movement, no hard drive light, everything
just stops until I force the computer to power off by holding down the power
button. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any idea when Intel will
be releasing drivers for this card? It's listed on this page as not yet
