Ever since I uninstalled and reinstalled XP the computer has said that I
don't have a sound card installed. I've run systems checks by pushing F12 at
the opening Dell screen and it played a short song clip to ensure the
speakers were functioning properly, but once XP loaded completely it went
back to saying I don't have a sound card. What do I do next?

You are probably confusing yourself between the system speaker and teh sound
card. The system speaker is capable only of beeps and basis sound. However to
run a sound card you need a xp compatible sound card driver. Get the details
about the model of the sound card and the driver from teh vendor and install
the same. nce installed check the device manager for the status of the sound
card.

If my invoice says I have an Integrated ADI 1885 Audio then who's the
manufacturer?

Was this Dell purchased NEW?

How did you re-install XP on to it? Recovery CD / Partition provided
by Dell???

Head over to Dell's web iste and try to locate the required drivers
for downloading.
