Joe

I have my home page set to blank, but for some reason
today there is a single character on the page It is this
character ÿ Is there a way to get rid of this?
Resetting the page to blank doesn't correct this. I've
got a current virus checker running and I also run Spybot
and Adaware every couple of days (have done so already
today, but didn't get rid of the problem).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

Joe,

just some vague idea. Have you perhaps forced the language or
the character set to something unusual? It looks as if Internet
Explorer no longer recognizes UTF-8. But I'm really not sure
about this.

An afterthought. If you really cannot find the cause and repair,
you could, as a workaround, create a truly blank HTML page,
store it anywhere on your computer and set it up as your start
page.
