instructions for making borders?

I am using Office Word 2003. Are there any detailed instructions ( or any
instructions at all ) for making custom borders? Thanks so much!
 
For "border art," see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/BorderArt.htm. For
borders that are just combinations of lines, you can use AutoShapes.
