Installing XP

I've tried to install XP on existing XP and after installation and found that
all the "old" files still existed. The installation did not clear the PC.

After querying the issues I understood that the installation should have
been made from "BOOT" (and not as I started it from windows).

How do I set the PC to start the XP installation form "BOOT" ??

In:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/winxp/install.mspx

I see that :
"The installation process will delete all of your files." - didnt happed to me

"If prompted to start from the CD, press SPACEBAR. If you miss the prompt
(it only appears for a few seconds), restart your computer to try again." -
Even if the CD was Inserted I was not prompted to start from the CD but from
windows.

This is the expected outcome. If you want to "clear the PC," you need to
perform a clean install, not a repair install.

Correct again.

That would depend on the make of your PC. See:

http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/bios_manufacturer.htm

Once you access your PC's BIOS, you may instruct it to boot from your
CD-ROM drive (rather than from your hard drive, which is your current
setup).

I like these instructions for a clean install:

Make sure you have first saved your files and settings. And make sure
you have all the necessary drivers.

You need to configure your computer's BIOS to boot from the CD.
Check the documentation for your computer to see how this is
done. You may have to check the manufacturer's web site and
download the correct manual for your system.

Here's an article with general information on the procedure.
